Minutes from 01/02/12 Meeting:
Congratulations to Stuart Nesmith and Eric Schaevy who won the 12/17th tournament on Wheeler Lake. From the review of the tournament results, it appears the better fish were caught very shallow in muddy water on crankbaits and on deeper breaks on carolina rigs.
Our fundraiser to raise money for the Hartselle and Danville High School fishing teams will start at the beginning of February, and tickets will be sold for $5 each with a drawing held at our March Meeting. We have the following prizes for the fundraiser: Big Green Egg Grill from Corums Building Supply, $500 gift certificate from Shelton's Outdoors, Half-day guide trip with Elite Series pro Chris Lane on Guntersville Lake, Stihl BG55 Hand Blower from Garnett's Lawn, $75 Gift Certificate from the Coop in Hartselle, $50 Gas Card from Ironman Grocery, and a gift set from Tankersley's in Hartselle.
We had two new members attend the meeting - Brandon Turrentine and Wes Bryan
A rule change was proposed regarding linking meeting participation to qualifying for the classis. This issue will be noted and discussed next summer at our rules meeting for the following year.
Our next tournament is on Smith Lake out of the Park on 1/28/12 from 7am to 4pm.
Our February meeting will be held on February 6th at 6:30 at Mr. Henry's, and our tournament will be on Guntersville out of Waterfront on 2/25/12 from 7am to 3pm.
